Taipei Li-Yuan Peking Opera Troupe to Perform Again in Austin

The Taipei Li-Yuan Peking Opera Troupe will perform two different productions at the Long Center for the Performing Arts in Austin on July 26 and 27, 2025. The event is hosted by the Austin Chapter of the Buddha’s Light International Association.
On March 22, the association’s supervisor, Xu Xiuqin, held a preparatory meeting, inviting supervisor Qiu Jinzhang, representatives from the Chinese American Alliance and the Chinese Friendship Association, and a total of 12 attendees. Venerable Jueji from Xiangyun Temple also attended to offer encouragement.
The Li-Yuan Peking Opera Troupe previously performed in Austin in 2019, receiving widespread acclaim. This year, in addition to giving local residents another opportunity to appreciate the beauty of Peking Opera, the organizers aim to promote Chinese arts through schools and community groups, fostering deeper cultural exchange.
During the preparatory meeting, attendees divided into 18 groups to manage ticketing, finance, publicity, media, transportation, stage production, and other tasks, while also recruiting volunteers for assistance.
