美國「退群」世衛 批無視台灣新冠警告

【本報綜合報導】美國衛生部副部長歐尼爾近日在社群宣布正式「退群」世界衛生組織（WHO），怒批WHO在COVID-19疫情爆發前忽視台灣警告，假裝台灣不存在。對此，世衛總幹事譚德塞與WHO的COVID-19技術負責人雙雙反擊，駁斥美方說法「不實」，稱台灣沒警告。

國會山報報導，美國衛生部23日證實正式退出WHO，原因是WHO在COVID-19（2019冠狀病毒）期間「失職、阻撓及時且準確分享關鍵資訊」。

衛生部長小甘迺迪在X發文抨擊WHO偏離創立宗旨，透過影片聲明表示：「WHO迷失方向，陷入官僚體系、利益衝突與國際權力政治之中。在COVID-19流行期間，這樣的失職是致命的。」

WHO總幹事譚德塞24日在X回應小甘迺迪聲明，稱美國退出WHO將造成美國及世界在健康安全上的損失，並指控「美方退出WHO的理由包含不實資訊」。

另一方面，兼任美國疾病管制預防中心主任的歐尼爾（Jim O’Neill）23日也在X發文，稱WHO「忽視台灣在2019年針對新型冠狀病毒的早期警告，假裝台灣不存在。WHO無視嚴謹科學，並推動封城」。他並強調，未來將就國際傳染病議題持續協調。

WHO的COVID-19專家科克霍夫（Maria Van Kerkhove）則怒批歐尼爾的指控「全屬不實」。

「我以COVID-19技術負責人在第一線經歷，」科克霍夫在X發文說，「WHO在2019年12月31偵測到中國武漢的疫情訊號。台灣並沒有警告我們：台灣是同一天來詢問資訊。我們沒有忽視台灣，我們不會忽視科學，而且WHO從未建議封城」。
