前往支持Buddhism Made Easy: A Spiritual Dialogue in the "When Things Fall Apart" Online Book Club
Written by: Xin Zhu
On the afternoon of January 29th, Ms. Nidhi Chawla visited Xiangyun Temple to host the final gathering of the "Soft Beginning" online book club, which she founded. Special guest Ven. Jue Ji was invited to lead an online Dharma Q&A session centered around the book When Things Fall Apart.
The book's author, Pema Chödrön, is highly appreciated by readers interested in spiritual growth. Online members eagerly asked questions, with topics covering self-compassion, emotional burdens, and life intentions. Ven. Jue Ji responded from a Buddhist perspective, encouraging the expansion of the "small self" into the "big self" to open the heart, letting go of inner pressure through repentance, and guiding participants to a clearer and more comfortable state of body and mind through the aspiration of Bodhi.
During the event, Wang Nuan, the teacher of the Xiangyun Temple’s Spiritual Drum Class, and Dr. Luo Wenjiang performed Blue and White Porcelain live. The melodious music brought an elegant and warm atmosphere of Chinese culture to the online participants. Several members provided feedback, noting that the event gave them gentle yet solid support, relieving inner tension. Ms. Nidhi also hopes to collaborate with Ven. Jue Ji plans to share the wisdom of "Buddhism Made Easy" with more people in the future.
