浪犬捨身搏鬥 保護30名幼童

【本報綜合外電報導】街頭流浪犬常被視為環境隱憂，甚至是令人恐懼的威脅。然而近日在印度奧里薩邦（Odisha）馬尤布漢傑縣的一個小村莊，一隻名叫「Kali」的流浪母犬，卻用生命改寫了人們對街犬的刻板印象，成為全村家長心中永遠的守護神。

根據《 The Times of India 》報導，意外發生在周一清晨，當時一所幼兒園的30多名孩子正聚在校門口空地。就在此時，一條劇毒眼鏡蛇悄悄逼近，孩子們尚未察覺危險，一場悲劇眼看就要發生。平時就在校園周邊徘徊的 Kali 第一時間察覺異狀，牠沒有因為天敵的恐懼而退縮奮不顧身衝上前，展開一場生死搏鬥。

根據村民描述，Kali 展現出極強的韌性儘管被毒蛇多次咬中，牠仍死死纏鬥不放，直到徹底制服並咬死毒蛇為止。遺憾的是，毒液隨即在 Kali 體內發作這位浪浪英雄精疲力竭地倒下，沒多久便停止呼吸。

感激涕零的村民們不再視 Kali 為「無名流浪犬」，而是以最高規格的儀式為牠送行。人們為牠蓋上白布、綴滿鮮花，並在村中巡遊致意。
