On August 31, San Hao students participated in a musical performance jointly organized by MRBR Music Studio and SM City Bacolod. The event, held at 3 PM in SM City Bacolod, was met with a warm welcome from the local community, with nearly 300 attendees. Through music and performance, the show promoted the Three Acts of Goodness movement and the values of Humanistic Buddhism.
The event featured various segments, starting with a talk by Cora Romero, the English secretary of BLIA Bacolod Chapter, focusing on the "Three Acts of Goodness" — doing good deeds, speaking good words, and thinking good thoughts. Following this, San Hao students performed a special song, showcasing what they have learned and practiced from the Three Acts of Goodness movement.
The program also included a speech by BLIA member Juby Gochangco, who introduced Fo Guang Shan Yuan Thong Temple and its contributions to the local community. He emphasized how the temple fosters community harmony and development through various activities and services. San Hao students then performed another song, reflecting their dedication to the spirit of the Three Acts of Goodness. During the intermission, the audience was treated to an elegant fan dance and a charming cute dance performance.
During the event, Rhea, the class president of the Yuan Thong Temple San Hao Performance group, gave a speech on behalf of her classmates. She shared how they have learned the "Four Givings" — giving others confidence, joy, hope, and convenience. Rhea also discussed how these values are applied in daily life, helping those around them and positively impacting the community.
The event also introduced various upcoming activities at Yuan Thong Temple, including a Mid-Autumn painting class organized by Ms. Pneuma and cultural song and dance classes held by Teacher Rutha every Saturday from 3 PM to 8 PM. The event concluded successfully, with great feedback from the community.
The closing remarks were delivered by Rosita Gochangco, supervisor of BLIA Bacolod Chapter. She expressed her gratitude for the Fo Guang Shan’s Three Acts of Goodness, which have brought stability and harmony to society. She also encouraged more people to participate in this noble movement and contribute to the peaceful development of society.
