A Bundle of Joy: The Heritage of Sharing from FGS Mabuhay Temple & BLIA Philippines

On December 8, 2024, the FGS Mabuhay Temple, in collaboration with BLIA Philippines, proudly hosted its annual Bundle of Joy program. This heartwarming event, held at the FGS Mabuhay Temple, touched the lives of 400 families from the neighboring Barangay 719, spreading joy and goodwill throughout the community.

The generosity of BLIA chapters—including Manila 1, Manila 2, Manila 3, Quezon, Pasig, Pasay, Hong Kong, San Juan, and the Young Adults Division (YAD)—was truly inspiring. Members from these chapters donated their time and energy to repack and prepare the goodies for distribution, ensuring that each bucket was filled with love and festive cheer.

The event began with a thanksgiving prayer, led by Venerable Chueh Tzu. In her address, FGS Mabuhay Temple Abbess Venerable Miao Jing emphasized that this annual gathering has become a cherished tradition for the community. She highlighted that the distribution of these festive bundles is more than just the sharing of treats; it is a symbolic gesture of love, unity, and hope, offering local families a heartwarming start to the holiday season. The bundles, she explained, are filled not only with physical gifts but also with blessings for a New Year filled with new beginnings, dreams, and joy. Venerable Miao Jing also expressed the deep gratitude to the Barangay for transforming the area into a friendly and harmonious community.

In recognition of FGS Mabuhay Temple’s enduring commitment to the community, Barangay 719 Chairman Jaime P. Adriano presented a Plaque of Appreciation to the temple. Chairman Adriano expressed heartfelt thanks for the temple’s continuous efforts in bringing love, kindness, and assistance to the neighborhood. He also encouraged residents to continue fostering a spirit of cooperation, care, and respect, strengthening the harmonious bond between the temple and the community for the benefit of all.

This year’s Bundle of Joy distribution perfectly embodied the principle of four givings advocated by Venerable Master Hsing Yun, particularly the gift of joy. Every recipient left with a smile and a heart full of gratitude, embodying the essence of the great love—sharing happiness and spreading goodwill to all.
