史丹福大學研究 瓦斯爐釋出致癌物苯 比二手菸多

【本報綜合外電報導】《紐約時報》報導，根據一項新研究，使用瓦斯爐的一個爐口，使室內致癌物苯的濃度增加，比二手菸所含苯的濃度還高，這樣的濃度在戶外曾引起地方政府的調查。

史丹福大學杜爾可持續發展學院（Doerr School of Sustainability）的研究測量加州和科羅拉多州87戶瓦斯爐的苯排放量，發現天然氣和丙烷瓦斯爐排放的苯的室內濃度，經常超出世界衛生組織（WHO）和其他衛生機構設定的健康標準。

研究人員發現，在87戶中，大約有3分之1戶瓦斯爐的一個爐口開大火燒45分鐘，苯的室內濃度超出二手菸的最上層標準。愈來愈多研究發現瓦斯爐造成室內空氣汙染，及對健康的負面影響。
