【本報綜合外電報導】英國國防部15日表示，將派遣2萬名軍事人員到歐洲各地，參加今年上半年舉行的北大西洋公約組織（NATO）大型演習，另外加上軍艦與戰鬥機。路透報導，英軍這次部署包括1萬6000名英國陸軍於2月至6月駐紮東歐、一個航空母艦打擊群，以及F-35B「閃電」（Lightning）戰機和偵察機隊。今年上半年舉行的「堅定捍衛者」（Steadfast Defender）演習是紀念北約成立75周年。英國國防大臣夏普斯夏普斯談到這次演習時說：「我們的軍隊將與來自30個北約國家和瑞典的軍隊聯手，針對蒲亭的威脅提供重要保證。」此外，美國、英國和澳洲即日起至2月2日舉行「紅旗奈里斯24-1」（Red Flag Nellis 24-1）聯合空中演習約150名澳洲皇家空軍（The Royal Australian Air Force，RAAF）飛行員參加，支援6架F-35A「閃電II式」。
