【記者陳玲芳台北報導】衛福部疾管署提醒，我國每年仍約有6000多人確診結核病，民眾如出現咳嗽2周、有痰、胸痛、體重減輕、食慾不振、發燒等疑似結核病症狀，請主動就醫，及早診斷與治療，規則服藥6至9個月可治癒，保護自己與親友的健康。為響應3月24日「世界結核病日」，提升大眾對結核病的認識並進而落實防治，衛福部疾病管制署舉辦「結核不潛行 YES! WE CAN!」記者會，宣誓齊心協力防治結核病。衛福部次長周志浩表示，台灣結核病防治多年來在公衛、醫療、民間、各部會等的共同努力下，新案發生率已逐年下降至2022年的每10萬人口約28例，累積降幅達62%。台灣結核暨肺部疾病醫學會理事長王振源說，結核病透過「空氣」與「飛沫」傳染，因此唱歌與親吻都成為傳染途徑，一般人受到結核菌感染後，約有5至10%機會發病。此外，除了結核病，高市鼓勵新住民篩檢治療並予獎勵，除補助就醫掛號費，還提供完成潛伏感染篩檢及陽性預防性治療者獎勵禮券。
