【本報綜合外電報導】巴西國家亞馬遜研究所（INPA）指出，赤道東太平洋水域異常增溫的聖嬰現象和北熱帶大西洋變暖，造成今年亞馬遜出現13年來第2嚴重的乾旱，威脅居民生活。

亞馬遜集中了世界上20%的淡水，但住在巴西北部阿克里州首府白河市的63歲居民瑪麗亞的家中，水龍頭卻沒有水。

瑪麗亞已婚，是兩個孩子的母親，只能依靠當地政府的水罐車運送水。有時水罐車出問題延遲，瑪麗亞就得自掏腰包買水。

白河市民防局協調員法高指出，因嚴重乾旱導致樹薯、香蕉、咖啡等作物和養魚大量減產，估計農村地區農民經濟損失約40%。
