【本報綜合外電報導】綽號「深海博士」（Dr. Deep Sea）的美國大學教授迪圖里（Joseph Dituri），上周在佛羅里達州南部拉戈島的海底小屋已住滿74天，打破沒有減壓設備，在水下生活最久的世界紀錄。美聯社報導，迪圖里3月1日入住位於拉戈島潟湖底部、深度為水下9公尺多的朱爾斯海底小屋；據悉，他居住的水底旅館和潛艇不同，並未利用任何技術來減低水壓。之前的紀錄是73天2小時34分鐘，由2名田納西州的大學教授於2014年在同一地點創下；迪圖理刷新紀錄後，仍預計在水底待到6月9日，完成「海王星100天計畫」。這項計畫由海洋資源發展基金會推出，目的是結合醫學、海洋研究與教育推廣；擁有生物醫學工程博士學位的迪圖里，研究主題包括生理學實驗，以及監測人體暴露極端壓力下的反應，他表示，這項計畫背後理念，是讓人類「在海中居住，透過在海中生活並真正善待海洋，以保護海洋」。
