【本報綜合外電報導】英國五十三歲男子麥基（Gary McKee）在二○二二年天天都跑馬拉松，最後一天跑完後成功達成一百萬英鎊（約新台幣三千八百萬元）募款目標，開心迎向新年。法新社報導，麥基跨年夜在英格蘭西北部的家鄉坎布里亞（Cumbria），冒雨完成他在二○二二年的第三百六十五場馬拉松後，現場民眾群起歡呼。截至元旦中午，他為慈善團體「麥克米倫癌症支援」（Macmillan Cancer Support）和西坎布里亞臨終關懷之家（Hospice At Home West Cumbria）募款一百零九萬三千英鎊（約新台幣四千零五十萬元）。育有三子的麥基，通常是每天到塞拉菲爾德（Sellafield）核能電廠上班之前，跑完四十二公里路線，整年下來跑壞了二十二雙運動鞋，十二月三十一日下午二時左右，完成最後一場馬拉松，一年累計跑了一萬五千三百多公里。英國廣播公司新聞網（BBC News）報導，麥基在二○二二年最後一天開跑時說，他獲得「巨大」支持，但也坦言有點緊張。他說：「不是距離的問題，而是因為是最後一場。這會是特別的一天。癌症影響每一個人，因此這不僅是西坎布里亞的事，而是全國都該關心的事。」「麥克米倫癌症支援」募款執行董事勞尼（Claire Rowney）說，麥基的「成就和無私程度大到無法衡量」，「千言萬語都不足以表達我們衷心的感謝」。
