印度廟善待動物 首採機器象敬神

【本報綜合外電報導】響應減少動物虐待行為，印度南部克勒拉省一座印度教廟宇，在印度善待動物組織（PETA India）支持下，啟用機器象進行宗教儀式，獲得許多民眾支持。

身高約三點二公尺、重八百公斤的機器象「拉曼」（Irinjadapilly Raman），二月二十六日在克勒拉省的黑天廟，代替真象執行宗教儀式。「拉曼」的頭、耳、眼、鼻和尾都可活動，據信這是印度首次以機器象完成宗教儀式。

這個機器象是由印度善待動物組織，以及影星德魯沃杜（Parvathy Thiruvothu）共同捐贈。黑天廟為響應善待動物的呼籲，同意未來宗教節慶都以機器象進行儀式。

印度善待動物組織說明，動物在訓練過程多會受到虐打或懲處，發現有大象被人類囚養後，會採取激烈動作試圖掙脫束縛，甚至發狂攻擊人類。資料顯示，過去十五年間，克勒拉省傳出多起被囚養的大象襲擊事件，計五百二十六人因而死亡。
