掌中搬演 九頭十八手感人事蹟

【記者江俊亮雲林報導】雲林縣口湖鄉有則流傳甚廣的「九頭十八手」故事，講述清道光年間「六七水災」大暴潮時，一名陳姓男子解救八名受困兒童的事蹟，被「真雲林閣掌中劇團」編成布袋戲。

北港文化中心表示，雲林口湖一八四五年遭颱風暴雨襲擊，一名陳姓男子趕回家後，看到鄰居有八名小孩被困在木櫃上，見此情景，陳姓男子背著八個孩子往外逃，但在巨浪撲擊下，「九頭十八手」全滅頂，這名「戰水英雄」，事後也被稱為「大萬人」。

「真雲林閣掌中劇團」團長李京曄將此故事，改編成布袋戲《台灣演義─九頭十八手》，讓觀眾更認識台灣的過去。
