東洋第一 嘉義製材所 變身共享空間

【記者江俊亮嘉義報導】曾有「東洋第一」美譽的嘉義製材所，是百餘年前日人為處理阿里山原木所建，近年來整修後，已煥然一新，其中「手編工廠」由阿里山世界遺產協會打造為「貳陸陸杉Space」複合式共享空間，昨日開幕。

阿里山世界遺產協會理事長郭盈良表示，嘉義製材所取名為「貳陸陸杉Space」，是以阿里山群峰中海拔最高的大塔山（海拔兩千六百六十三公尺）為發想。

阿里山林業鐵路及文化資產管理處處長黃妙修說，為處理從山上運下來的巨木，日人在嘉義北門車站旁興建製材所，製材所在一九一四年啟用之際，是全日本占地最廣、產程近乎全自動化的木材產業園區，因此有「東洋第一」美譽。
