【本報綜合外電報導】聯合國祕書長古特瑞斯走訪聖母峰附近地區後，在10月30日表示，全球暖化影響下，尼泊爾白雪皚皚山頭的冰量，30年間少了近1/3。

路透報導，氣候科學家表示，地表氣溫於過去100年平均上升0.74℃，但喜馬拉雅山脈暖化幅度，高於全球平均值。

古特瑞斯在走訪尼泊爾索盧坤布（Solukhumbu）地區後，透過影片表示，夾在中國大陸、印度兩個主要碳排放國家之間，近10年尼泊爾的冰川融化速度，比20年前快了65%。

古特瑞斯在世界的屋脊呼籲終結「化石燃料時代」，並警告冰川融化意味著高漲的湖泊、河流將吞噬一個個社區，海平面也將以破紀錄速度上升。

今年6月公布的報告科學家指出，全球暖化影響下，興都庫什喜馬拉雅地區冰川的體積，在這個世紀末可能會減少多達75%，山下的人恐遭遇危險洪患，住山區的2.4億人則面臨缺水問題。
