【人間社記者普惠奧斯汀報導】香雲寺於二日舉辦「甘露灌頂皈依三寶典禮」，共有二十位信徒求受皈依。其中有兩個小小孩，一個年僅四個月大的嬰兒，一個是十九個月大的孩子，還有幾個家庭是全家皈依。典禮在莊嚴的大雄寶殿舉行。由於有不同國籍的人士，全程儀軌以英文進行。監寺覺繼法師向每位皈依者頒發皈依證書、致贈《華嚴經．淨行品》及念珠，並解釋所取法名的意義。法師恭賀大眾當日皈依三寶，成為正信的佛教徒，勉勵大眾在佛道上精進不懈，道業增長。皈依的信眾，或有從小受佛法熏習，或從其他宗教轉變航道，或已修習小乘佛教而體會大乘的宏觀，來香雲寺參加一段時間的法會活動之後，相信佛教的智慧而發心皈依三寶。James William Pressley法名「智吉」，表示他在香雲寺得到的比他預期的還要多，這裡有引導他接觸有系統的哲學智慧，有讓他咀嚼的更深入思考的東西，這正是他所尋求的。他希望以後能多參與香雲寺的活動。周荔法名「智淨」，是多年的基督徒，帶兩個雙胞胎女兒來參加功夫班，參加法會，從法師的開示，得到心靈的悸動，深信佛法的智慧是道業增上的鑰匙。因而發心帶著雙胞胎女兒一起皈依。
