澳洲擴軍 擬向太平洋島國募兵

【本報綜合外電報導】澳洲政府評估招募太平洋國家公民加入澳洲國軍，擴大澳洲軍隊規模。帛琉總統惠恕仁（Surangel Whipps,Jr.）八日對此表示歡迎。

澳洲國軍（ＡＤＦ）離職率在二○二二年至二○二三年間達到百分之十一點二。為解決國軍人力流失及滿足「澳英美三方安全夥伴關係」（AUKUS）需求，澳洲政府祭出國軍續約三年可得澳幣五萬元（約新台幣一百零四萬二千元）留任獎金。

此外，澳洲政府也正評估招募太平洋國家公民加入澳洲國軍，擴大澳洲軍隊規模。

太平洋島國帛琉總統惠恕仁對此表示歡迎。他指出，帛琉與美國間也有相似計畫。

惠恕仁表示，他相信帛琉可以對世界做出貢獻，也應盡己所能捍衛自由。
