【記者曹麗蕙台北報導】台灣作家郭強生的中篇小說《尋琴者》，不僅在國內橫掃台北國際書展大獎「小說獎」首獎肯定，更在一年內海外授權日、韓、法等十四國，美國版更在今年開春問世，由曾出版過諾貝爾文學獎得主莫言作品的Arcade推出，這也是Arcade首度出版台灣小說；此外，日本新潮社以競價方式獲得版權，對台灣著作來說相當少見。對於躋身國際作家之林，郭強生分享，當然開心有很多國家讀者能讀到他的作品，「但這不是我寫作的目的，也不會影響未來的寫作」，他舉例，中文書名《尋琴者》，有「琴」、「情」的雙關意涵，很難翻譯成其他語言，因此美國版書名用《THE PIANO TUNER》（鋼琴調音師），但他不會因外國人不能體會，就轉換為外國能翻譯的方式寫作。郭強生表示：「我反而更高興，原文中細膩的東西，在語言翻譯過程中，雖然可能不是那麼完整，但他們還是能看到故事中吸引人的部分，這對我而言是很大的鼓勵。」郭強生坦言，《尋琴者》是他共鳴最多的作品，他自承內容「都和自己生命息息相關」，小說中大量的體會、孤獨、幻滅、告別，源自一九九六年在美國的第一任情人離世，他認為，寫作是療癒的開始，「要先知道傷口在哪裡，才能療傷，但如同寫作過程，無法一次到位，也並非一次就能療癒完」。
