【本報綜合外電報導】美國聯邦眾議院議長麥卡錫（Kevin McCarthy）2日表示，「我現在沒有任何排定訪問台灣的行程。」

麥卡錫去年擔任共和黨眾議院領袖時表示，有意在擔任議長後訪問台灣。美國政治新聞網站酒杯新聞（Punchbowl News）1月23日報導，美國國防部正在為麥卡錫「訪台行」做準備，可能在春季成行。

北京激烈反應美議長訪台仍歷歷在目，外界高度關注麥卡錫此時行動。麥卡錫在國會山莊對媒體兩度表示，目前沒有排定訪台行程，重申1日在白宮的說法：「中國永遠不能左右我要去哪或能不能去哪。」
