習會舒默：中美關係世界最重要

【本報綜合報導】大陸國家主席習近平九日下午在北京人民大會堂，會見美國參議院多數黨領袖舒默（Chuck Schumer）。習近平向舒默表示，中美關係是世界上最重要的雙邊關係，中美兩國如何相處決定著人類的前途和命運。有一千個理由把中美關係搞好，沒有理由把中美關係搞壞，面對面交流是「不可替代的」。

中共中央政治局委員、中央外辦主任王毅九日上午，於釣魚台國賓館迎接舒默一行。王毅表示，希望舒默一行這次訪華，有助美方更準確、更客觀看待中國，以及更理性管控分歧，令中美關係重新回到健康發展軌道。

舒默表示，美中兩個大國於貿易、科技和外交等領域確實是競爭關係，但美國不尋求衝突，亦不尋求與中國脫鉤，雙方應負責任地管理關係。
