【本報綜合外電報導】美國一對夫妻在自然受孕的情況下，喜獲罕見的同卵三胞胎，這三個寶寶也成為這對夫婦雙方家族中的第一例多胞胎。馬修．科達羅（Matthew Cordaro）和海莉．科達羅（Haley Cordaro）夫妻，八月在路易斯安那州雪薇波特（Shreveport）的南威利斯-奈頓和婦女健康中心（Willis-Knighton South & the Center for Women's Health），順利誕下他們的三胞胎女兒：克萊爾（Claire）、艾拉（Ella）和莉莉（Lily）。根據醫院十月發布的新聞稿，自然受孕的同卵三胞胎非常罕見，發生機率在百萬分之一到兩億分之一之間，這對早產的三胞胎，出生後一直在新生兒加護病房（ＮＩＣＵ）接受照護，負責的醫師惠頓（Gerald Brent Whitton）說，三個寶寶表現非常好。科達羅夫婦之前已育有一個三歲的女兒肯尼迪（Kennedy），當海莉今年年初發現自己再度懷孕，並在七周後接受首次超音波檢查時，這對夫婦才驚訝地得知他們居然懷了三胞胎。懷孕三十一周時，海莉突然臨盆，但不巧的是，她的醫生、婦產科專家哈德爾斯頓（Lise Huddleston）正在休假。幸好，哈德爾斯頓的兩位副手保羅（Ricky Paul）和古拉特（Erin Gullatt）馬上接生，並協助海莉安全分娩，「她們的治療過程很順利」，惠頓說：「我們讓她們的父母待在這裡，以便讓他們習慣同時照顧三個寶寶。」可喜的是，在三胞胎寶寶健康恢復後，日前已離開醫院跟父母回到家中。
